Samburu National Reserve

Located in northern Kenya along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River, Samburu National Reserve is a rugged and untamed safari destination, celebrated for its dramatic landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and unique wildlife found nowhere else in the country. • Predators & Big Game – Lions, cheetahs, and leopards are often spotted along the riverbanks, while elephants thrive in large numbers. Crocodiles and hippos are frequently seen in the Ewaso Nyiro River.

• Ewaso Nyiro River – The lifeline of the reserve, this river attracts animals throughout the year, offering excellent opportunities to watch wildlife gathering to drink, especially during dry seasons.

• Birdwatching Paradise – With over 450 bird species, Samburu is a favorite for bird enthusiasts, featuring everything from the vulturine guineafowl to brightly colored bee-eaters.

• Cultural Encounters – The reserve is named after the Samburu people, close relatives of the Maasai, known for their vibrant attire, beadwork, and pastoral traditions. Cultural visits give insight into their way of life and traditions.
